Rachel Clare Hurd-Wood was born on August 17, 1990 in London, England to Sarah and Phillip Hurd-Wood. When she was 8 years old she moved to Godalming, Surrey U.K.

When Rachel was 7 years old she stared in her first school play, but never really thought of becoming a professional actress. She aspired to be a marine biologist  due to her deep passion for dolphins.

 Rachel stared in her first film "Peter Pan" which was released in America on December 25, 2004. She discovered the part opening of Wendy after her grandparents saw a local TV advertisment. (for more info on "Peter Pan" click on it in the navigation bar)

In October 2004 Rachel began working on a new movie called An American Haunting where she is playing a major role as Betsy Bell beside such vetern actors as Sissy Spacek. The film will be released in 2006 (more info to come).

Also, Rachel recently performed in a UK production of Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Slik Stocking (Click Here for pics). Here she played the role of Imogen, a thirteen year old girl who finds herself being kidnapped after attending the funeral of her murdered friend Georgina.

Rachel has not allows stardom to spoil her. Even thgouh for now she wishes to continuing acting she still maintains that she wishes to become a marine biologist/dolphin trainer in the future. Even on the set of 'Peter Pan" Rachel made it very clear where her passions laid. Jeremy sumpter even gave her a dolphin necklace as a present!

Rachel's hobbies include ice skating, canoeing, kayaking, art, music and shopping. She enjoys litens to rap and hiphop where her favorite performers are Christina Aguilera and Eminem. She has a younger brother, Patrick  and two gerbils, Romulus and Remus.
