Synopsis:

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer is a German film based on the novel by Patrick Suskind. The film tells the story of Jean-Baptiste Grenouille, a boy born in the slums of France strangely with no scent of his own, but gifted with a phenomenal olfactory sense. Growing up he learns to identify the numerous smells of Paris. He also becomes acquainted with a perfumer who generously teaches him the ancient arts of mixing precious oil and herbs to create a wondrous fragrance.

However, as in ever story of a murderer, obsession begins to take places as Jean-Baptiste endeavors to capture the scents of all objects of Paris such as lumber and brass. Then one day he comes across a scent that will cause him the go mad: the scent of a beautiful virgin. In a fatal rampage he resorts to murder and extracts elements from his victims to create ultimate fragrance.
